Norma McElroy

NORMA MCELROY

JAHZARA BRADLEY: What is your company's name?

NORMA MCELROY: Norma's Bath & Body.

JAHZARA BRADLEY: Why did you go into business?

NORMA MCELROY: Due to a Car accident prior to 2004, I was unable to work. Eventually, I dived into soap making from home. I made soaps and other products for myself, then for family and friends.  Eventually, I setup with eBay in 2005. I love what I do. What a journey! I stepped out in Faith, God has helped me and I have never looked back.

JAHZARA BRADLEY:  How long have you been in business?

NORMA MCELROY: I celebrated 14 bittersweet years in February, 2018. Again what a journey!

JAHZARA BRADLEY: Why is your service necessary, how is it of benefit ?

NORMA MCELROY: Everybody uses Bath and Body. Why not enjoy homemade soaps and lotions too?
You benefit from using my Norma's Bath&Body because your skin will drink up the lotions. Moisturizing, Fruity and addictive as well as all of my bath and body products. You'll see and feel the difference upon the first use.

JAHZARA BRADLEY: What advice do you have to empower women?

NORMA MCELROY: Just be a go- getter. Pray your way through all steps of your life. God will help you and strengthen you. He will give you the vision. Never give up. Fight against the negativity.
Take that and soar. Never give up. Love what it is that you do. Love God. Love others. You are amazing. We're women. We're strong women!

SunShyne B

SunShyne B

Can a Girl Get a Break Incorporated was launched on April 24, 2014 but the vision was born way before that day. As homeless pregnant teen, SunShyne B made a promised to herself that she would overcome her obstacles and become a success. While struggling to get back on her feet SunShyne spent a lot of time reflecting back on her circumstances and trying to pinpoint where it all went wrong. She has come to the conclusion that it was because she didn’t have a trusting relationship with anyone at the time she was struggling so she tried to figure out life on her own. She realized that the feelings she had at the time probably weren’t any different from any other girl who was in her predicament. SunShyne started to understand that, as women we all struggle in life. She also understood that it didn’t matter where you came from, the color of your skin or religious background because the battle was still all too familiar and that’s when she set off on her mission to help others.

Over the years, SunShyne continued working hard to find a way to rebuild damaged relationships between mothers and daughters because she felt that’s where the healing needed to begin and in 2012 she decided to use her passion for writing to connect with women all over the world by writing her debut novel “Can a Girl Get a Break”.

Her book addressed a range of topics which included both seriousness and humor to depict the messages that SunShyne B incorporated in her book. “Can a Girl Get a Break” represents women everywhere! This book is meant to be used as a tool to bring a sense of comfort to mothers and daughters who struggle with communication because it helps to create a dialog between her readers so that its easier for them to talk freely about certain issues that they may be experiencing. After a couple of years, the book proved to be a hit especially among mothers and daughters and that’s when SunShyne B became even more motivated to do more in her community.

In 2014, SunShyne started Can a Girl Get a Break Inc a company that manufactures “Can Girl Get a Break” products such as books, scented candles, tshirts and more. As a community activist, SunShyne B uses the profits from her merchandise to help create events in her community for the youth. During these events she discusses the importance of pressing on through life’s trials and tribu-
lations and also teaches them the importance of breaking “generational curses”.

SunShyne doesn’t believe in just talking she believes in being hands on with our youth so she host workshops in her area to teach young women how to use their natural talents to generate income and become young business owners.

A company such as Can a Girl Get a Break Incorporated is beneficial to our community because it helps to bridge the generational gap between the youth and adults in our communities. Her company slogan “Bringing Generations of Women Together” reflects her vision and her message of unity to women all over the world. She wants people to know that her company is more than just a brand. It’s a MOVEMENT!
